La cueva romana es un alojamiento especial, tuvimos un problema para llegar a la hora prevista y no nos pusieron ningún inconveniente y nos han hecho sentir como en casa. La zona norte de Granada es un pequeño paraíso por descubrir. Muy recomendable

'A real Spanish experience'.

Stayed at Cueva Romana in Cuevas del Campo as a single traveller between 19 July 2020 and 26 July 2020. Amazing place. Transfer time from Granada airport just about an hour and one of the hosts, Spencer, kindly collected me from the airport. I think Malaga is about 2 hours away. Stayed in one of the cave rooms which had a beautiful en-suite, private outside covered seating area, and direct access to the garden, pool, bar and sun lounging areas. Breakfast freshly prepared and served by Paul, the other host. He prepared everything fresh for me, when I wanted it, not when dictated to me. This was the same for evening meals too when I ate there a few times. Quality of food and service exceptional. Besides eating in main guest house I didn’t really use it but the lounge and TV area looked very stylish, modern and comfortable. I was looking for a week of reading and swimming and relaxing and little else. But so much to do should you choose to do so. Not only are Paul and Spencer your personal and perfect hosts, transfer service, chefs and guys on hand if required, they will take you out and about on personal excursions too. I had a trip to Lake Negratin just 10 mins away where we went out on Spencer’s boat, did some kayaking, and also ate at a lovely lake side restaurant that we moored up right outside. Also went to Lake Bolera, where had a lovely meal in a restaurant with the most amazing menu and food to match. From there went on to the Village of Castril with an amazing river walk and then climb up to the village which has amazing mountain views from high up at the Church monument perched at the mountain villages highest point. Stopped off for couple drinks throughout it too! There are plenty other things to do too. Visit Granada city, mountain walks, cycling. Truly great stay and so much more than expected. It certainly is a cave but not a cave as you know it. A real Spanish experience but with two very friendly hosts with exceptional Spanish language skills and local connections to help you experience it if you wish. Hopefully going back for a week in September or October if I can. If not I am certainly there again for a 2 week break next summer”.

The Perfect Hide Away.

I was looking for a week away, somewhere off the beaten track, somewhere that was clothes optional and not the huge impersonal naturist resorts I had tried before and Cueva Romana ticked all the boxes.
I was picked up from Granada airport by Paul, one of the owners of the resort, who drove me to Cueva Romana about an hour away. My stay was the last week in May 2019, there were two other guests, a very friendly gay couple. My accommodation was in the Summer Room with en-suite and private sun terrace, which I only used once, preferring the company of my fellow guests but if you haven’t tried naturism before, the private terrace may suit you better.
I opted to eat at the resort and the food prepared each evening by Paul, who’s is a very accomplished chef. Food is also available during the day but never took advantage of this but was assured by the other guests that it was also excellent.
Cueva Romana welcomes everyone, be you gay, or straight, naturist or not, single or a couple but if you are Swinger this is NOT the place for you.
Lovely friendly owners, who made me feel very at home.

Lake Negratin

Highly recommend this beautiful place to stay.

Rooms are delightful and spotlessly clean. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a few cocktails. Nearby there are plenty of good places to eat and some lovely countryside to explore, including a spectacular lake that is ideal for swimming. Will definitely be returning.

A break without the crowds.

I was looking for a naturist break in Spain and came across this property. I’m very happy that I did. The two proprietors are attentive and knowledgeable,, will help you if at all possible, and offer first class service, accommodation. If you wish to venture out to find a restaurant , the nearby town's a short drive away. The location is perfectly located away from the typical Andalusian tourist hot spots, so you get to be amongst local Spanish people. There is the possibility of activities for those who enjoy the outdoor life, such as hiking, canoeing and visits to a freshwater lake with a beach. I am looking forward to my next visit.

First Class

I had decided to go away on my own, but at the same time I didn't want to be anonymous in a large hotel. I did quite a bit of research online and decided to stay here. I had pretty much no idea what to expect so it was a bit of a risk, but so what?
It turned-out I made a right decision.
The place is run like a 5 star hotel. The owners, Paul and Spencer, take great care to make sure it's a good stay.
There is an option to eat at the guest house in the evenings (which I did). This gives you the chance to spend time with them and other guests in a very relaxed atmosphere. Just chatting over dinner then maybe watching a movie later. The food, prepared by Paul, s faultless. (he is a trained chef and he asks for any allergies or dislikes before you arrive, then tailors the menu accordingly.) Do they even do that at Claridges?
They will also arrange excursions and will collect from and drop-off at the airport. So don't bother with car hire.
When you want to just sit by the pool or have a coffee or drink, you are just left alone.
Paul and Spencer really deserve the praise on Tripadvisor.

Thank heaven for coincidentes!

It was a coincidence that I came across Cueva Romana. Paul and Spencer are the perfect hosts, always there to make the stay perfect. Paul cooks, his skills would be worth a Michelin star, no less! My recommendation to future guests, don’t even think about having your dinner elsewhere!. All you can wish for is just in front of you, the pool area, surroundings, tours/excursions wherever you want to go, excellent massage and cosy fire burning at dinner time if cool outdoor.

I give Cueva Romana 10 out of 10 and hope to be back!

'Amazing place to relax. I'd give it 5*'

I had the pleasure of spending a week at this amazing guest house, it not just any old place it is a place were you feel pampered from the time you arrive. The rooms are spotless as are the pool, courtyard and all areas within the guesthouse. The owners can not do enough for you, I came alone and was made to feel like nothing was to much trouble. They took me on a hike in to the mountains, don’t bother with a car let them pick you up in their lovely car from Granada. It a great place to celebrate events with friends or family as the owners would accommodate any requests. I could go on but it worth seeing to believe. Already planing next visit with friends. While it nudist it not hard core, all they ask is your open minded to it. Very upscale place. Thank you boys, see you soon

'Genial acogida'

Lovely place with lovely people, Paul and Spenser were very friendly, each time that we needed something they were happies to can help us. You have all you can expect, different rooms are very clean and customer service was incredible.

Andy Tzouvanni  reviewed Cueva Romana – August 2018 Airbnb

My girlfriend and I were looking for a peaceful place away from the big towns and cities, surrounded by fields and mountains to relax and this place was just perfect! The house and garden are both so much bigger and better in real life and include plenty of sun beds, chilling areas and even a hammock. Initially, on AirBNB, it looked too good to be true and there were no reviews but it turned out that it was new to AirBNB and we were the first guests from this app. We did ask what they meant by adults only and the owners explained that they have designed the place as a peaceful retreat to give their guests, especially those who have children, a well deserved break from the kids and a chance to relax and recharge. We room we stayed in is described as Gina’s cave which was a beautiful, cosy white cave with the perfect room temperature for you to take a nap comfortably at anytime of the day/night without needing air conditioning at all. The whole place is immaculately clean and you can see how much pride the owners take in keeping the whole house and garden absolutely perfect including well looked after garden plants and a crystal clear swimming pool. Breakfast was great and they have a drinks and snacks bar where you can just help yourself. They also have a bar food menu which we ended up ordering from everyday as the meals are prepared by one of the owners who happens to be an experienced chef and pastry chef, so everything tasted great and at it saves you having to head into town.
